Intro to Soccer
Our Fun Intro to Soccer is an enthusiastic and informative program designed to engage children between the ages of four (4) and seven (7.) This program operates similarly to our competitive club soccer option, with two (2) practice days per week and scrimmages on Sundays throughout the fall and spring seasons offered.
Making Soccer Fun
The goal is to provide children with an exciting and enjoyable experience while learning basic skills and instilling basic knowledge of the game starting at a young age.
The emphasis will be on teaching fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. Instructions are kept very simple, with coaches demonstrating the techniques to help these children better understand how to execute. Fun drills and games are employed to accomplish this.
The overarching theme will always be fun and play, rather than focusing solely on competition or winning.
Focus on Imaginative Play
In our practices, children are encouraged to unleash their imagination, such as imagining themselves as their favorite player or an animal. This creative approach boosts their creativity and adds fun to the sport.
Teamwork
This program highlights the importance of teamwork. Children will be educated about teamwork, communication, and respect for others. We teach them the value of teamwork and how working together can achieve greater success on and off the field.
Positive Reinforcement
Each child’s efforts and achievements during practice will be recognized and praised. Likewise, constructive feedback will be provided to help them improve.
Social Interaction Skills
The program promotes empathy, cooperation, and understanding among children through organized group activities and team-building exercises, enhancing their social interaction skills in a supportive and fun environment.
Exploration
We promote variety and encourage exploration. Children will be introduced to the different aspects of soccer, such as the different positions, rules of the game, and strategies. Each child is encouraged to explore and discover what they enjoy most.
Building a Foundation
By focusing on core skills such as ball handling, passing, and teamwork, we ensure that young players develop a solid foundation, making their transition to older leagues smoother and more confident.
